Little minty shorts/new look N6606

Welcome to my first blog post, dear creative friends. And hello from Lake Havasu!
Since the weather is getting warmer, and my ideas more and more summerish- seems perfectly obvious what garment should I start my blog with. Little minty shorts.
This cute little peace of heaven I made from this pattern , in view B.
It was very simple to make, and instructions were easy to follow. Two of my favorite words when it comes to the pattern btw- simple and easy.. You know, being a beginner and all.

I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby, and although I couldn’t find it again online to share with you which one exactly I used, I found something similar here and here. It’s an amazing mixture of linen and cotton, just whispering “sumerrrrr…” to me.
The color itself deserves a few paragraphs as well, I believe. This minty green is winning yet another year as THE color of the season! And can you blame it? It’s the color of freshness, coolness and… mojito!
Check out my fancy mojito recipe here.

It took me only few hours to make it(shorts not mojito!), and I needed: almost two yards or one and a half meter of fabric, matching thread and invisible zipper. If you would like to learn how to easily install invisible zipper check my post here.

Pattern also has pockets, BUT I was in a hurry to finish it for my trip to Lake Havasu so I skipped this step. And boy was I wrong to do that! I wanted to put something in my non-existent pockets nearly 20 times… Lesson learned guys… lesson learned.
Also, I wish I took one size smaller. I kinda overestimated myself in the waist area. But that is easy fixable with adding one more dart in the middle.

Overall cheap and beautiful project that’s going to bust up your sewing mojo, I know mine did!
I will definitely go back to this pattern, I already have an fabric idea for the view A(pants).
What do you think about it? Have you tried it? What fabric did you use?

Thank you for stopping by
